Jens Christian Skou Prize 2026
The Jens Christian Skou Prize is awarded each year to a promising researcher from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Aarhus University.
The prize is a recognition of outstanding research, talent and extraordinary creativity and productivity. The heads of department nominate candidates, and the dean's office assesses the proposals received and selects the prize winner. The Skou Prize comes with DKK 100,000 for research - and a recognition of an extraordinary research talent that makes a difference.
This year's award winner is Associate Professor Jörg Schullehner from the Department of Public Health
Jörg Schullehner, Associate Professor of Public Health and researcher in the health effects of environmental exposures, receives the Jens Christian Skou Prize 2026 for his extraordinary work with a special focus on drinking water quality. As a graduate cand.polyt. (environmental engineer) and later Ph.D. in medicine, Jörg has demonstrated research excellence in several disciplines that have led to scientific breakthroughs with significant societal impact. An award that honours not only a talented researcher, but a true pioneer.
