Participate in Neuroscience Day 2025
Explore the connection between pain mechanisms and placebo effects with international experts – register for Neuroscience Day 2025 now.

Are you interested in brain research and pain science? Then mark your calendar for June 10, 2025, when NeuroCampus Aarhus – one of Health's interdisciplinary research networks – will host the annual Neuroscience Day in the Aula at Aarhus University.
This year's theme is "Pain and Placebo – Mechanisms, Modulation and Clinical Implications" and the presentations will explore the complex relationship between pain and placebo effects.
It's a broad and complex topic that bridges many different disciplines, so there will be something of interest for most people.
Among the academic highlights at Neuroscience Day 2025 are:
- Keynote from Professor Ulrike Bingel (Universität Duisburg-Essen), leading expert in placebo and nocebo mechanisms.
- Keynote from Professor David Bennett (Oxford University and Honorary Skou Professor at Aarhus University) on genetic and molecular mechanisms behind pain conditions.
- Presentations on pain modulation, self-regulation of chronic pain, and brain mechanisms behind pain and temperature perception.
- Interview with a patient, providing a unique perspective on Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
There will also be ample networking opportunities on the day:
- Poster presentations from researchers across the neuroscience field.
- Coffee, sandwiches, and plenty of opportunity to meet colleagues and potential collaborators.
- Flash talks presenting the latest research.
For early-career researchers, a special pre-event is offered from 9:00 to 10:45 on funding opportunities – organized by Neuroscience Academy Denmark.
