Fund applications and grants

As a researcher, you can access guidance on preparing competitive, tailored applications to funding agencies and on managing project finances once a grant has been awarded

Especially for Dentistry and Oral Health

Peer review of protocols and applications

It is mandatory to use peer review for applications to the European Research Council and the Innovation Fund Denmark.

Contact the deputy head of department for research in connection with applications.

Approval of applications

Grant applications with budgets over DKK 300,000 must be presented to the head of department and the deputy head of department for research, who may appoint a reviewer for academic feedback.

All applications must be submitted for approval at least 10 working days before submission.

Salary funds and overhead

As a general rule, all expenses must be covered within an externally funded research project.

It is therefore important to include overhead and related costs — i.e., expenses for salary compensation, laboratory technician/bioanalyst, administration/secretarial support, AC-TAP staff, use of CORE facilities, rent, etc.

However, it may be necessary to accept co-financing — for example, for own salary, support staff, or equipment.

Special conditions for EU funds

For applications under the FP7 and Horizon 2020 programmes, the Research Support Unit must be involved in all phases of the application.

Contact both the Research Support Unit and the head of department well in advance before starting the application. In cases where the applicant is the coordinator, the Research Support Unit must be contacted no later than two months before the application deadline — and preferably even earlier.
